The device's drying, shredding and fermentation functions speed up the decomposition and composting process to a fraction of the speed compared to a traditional composter. The Green Land eKompostori ferments kitchen waste as is, but the process can be somewhat accelerated and ensured even composting by adding Green Land eKompostori's stimulant to the waste.

Power consumption is affected by the moisture content of the kitchen waste and the softness of the material. Soft and dry waste can be composted in as little as a few hours, but waste containing wetter and/or harder material requires a longer composting time.

We do not recommend putting e.g. soups, jams and other waste containing a lot of water. The eCompostori can handle them too, but it may take two or three consecutive processing cycles before the process is complete.
